New Blog Song
Wednesday, May 31, 2006 @9:58 PM
Yep, I know i'm crazy. But after a great performance by Paul Twohill, I have decided to change my blog song to Here Without You by 3 Doors Down. It also reflects upon me and my heart, as usual. If not what kind of song would it be? The song's lyrics are very meaningful, so here they are:
A hundred days had made me older
Since the last time that I saw your pretty face
A thousand lights had made me colder
And I don’t think I can look at this the same
But all the miles had separate
They disappeared now when I’m dreaming of your face
I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams
And tonight it’s only you and me
The miles just keep rolling as the people either way to say hello
I hear this life is overrated but I hope it gets better as we go
I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams
And tonight girl it’s only you and me
Everything I know, and anywhere I go
It gets hard but it won’t take away my love
And when the last one falls, when it’s all said and done
It gets hard but it won’t take away my love
I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams
And tonight girl it’s only you and me
I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams
But tonight girl it’s only you and me
Farewell, Ding
@9:55 PM
I know I should have posted this earlier, but I could not phrase it properly. Sgt Ding Si Yan, is leaving the 12th company for 6 months. All the best to him and may he have a good time in Boston. And hope that he knows that all of us in 12th coy will miss him, a great and patient mentor and friend. (Helped me so much with my marching). Without him, Phillippi has lost a great leader, and I will eagerly anticipate your return, Ding.
I SALUTE YOU!

Sigh Sigh Sigh

Why, Why? Why must this happen to me?Ok, I'm really quite upset now, because the Class Gathering for one, is on the day of my Piano Practical Exam! And the bad part is that I can't change the timing and its right smack in the middle of the afternoon. So ya, I may not be able to go! What kind of crap is this? What have I done to deserve this! Argh!
I Knew I loved You
Sunday, May 28, 2006 @10:39 PM
Savage Garden - I Knew I Loved You
Maybe it's intuition
but some things you just don't question
Like in your eyes, I see my future in an instant
And there it goes,
I think I found my best friend
I know that it might sound more than a little crazy
but I believe...
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
There's just no rhyme or reason
Only the sense of completion
And in your eyes,
I see the missing pieces I'm searching for
I think I've found my way home
I know that it might soundmore than a little crazy
but I believe...
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
A thousand angels dance around you
I am complete now that I've found you
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life

Holidays Are Here!
Saturday, May 27, 2006 @10:03 PM
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!Hey guys, its finally officially the holidays for me, because I still had to go to school today. So ya, had a First Aid Theory Test today, which was Part I of the First Aid Badge in BB. I think I did quite well, except that I put
contusion as a bruise from....erm..I think I forgot..Nvm. Anyway the other mistake that I made was that I put CPR as
Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation instead of
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. Then there was the unexpected RACE, yes race in which there were 3 events - 100m, 200m and 400m. Most of us chose to do the 100m and 200m while some more ambitious ones chose the 400. We had to pass 2 of the 3, so the choice was obvious for me. Ya. So here are my timings 100m - 19 sec200m - 43 secSo embarrassing right? But I don't really care. I don't even care if I was the last ( I was not =p) As long as I pass I don't care. But then again so many of the 6iers will be so much fastest than me, but never mind la, in ACS not the last can already... Lol
NO Dancing Zone
Thursday, May 25, 2006 @4:35 PM
Yay! I don't need to dance and represent the class in the Racial Harmony Day dance competition. It wasn't easy to say NO mind you, especially with a teacher like Kaur who was breathing down our backs and kept asking us to participate and forced a few to join..Thankfully we were able to fend her off till the deadline closed, which was today at 240pm. Actually no one wanted to be in, hence we all decided to not put in any effort at all. And being the 'leader' (Dots, why always me?), I came up with a motto "We must not succeed"...Lol...Anyway we just made David dance, and his moves were so hilarious and crazy that we could not follow if we wanted to..Then at first we wanted Jia by Kit Chan but then the Kaur complained that it was too slow-moving and wanted a fast-paced one. The problem was that the other choice was ye qu by Jay Chou, which has abosoloutely nothing to do with Racial Harmony...So even though she was quite upset, David and his antics managed to cheer her up and we didnt need to go perform.. YAY!
Owl Of Doom is going DOWN
Wednesday, May 24, 2006 @10:28 PM
Heys, It's only 2 more days to the holidays! And that means the class gathering is coming too! w00t w00t. Sigh so nervous tomorrow getting Report Book...As usual Owl Of Doom Samuel Ong is sure to top the class, especially with his first term massacare...So that means my 2nd place finish in Term 2 barely counts against him lor. But then I will not give in or give up. Owl Of Doom has to go down soon! See his face is quite sian, looks like some snobbish politician...But he's quite a nice guy and good friend, but in the Academic Field, no one even casts a second look at you even if you are their best friend or something. Ya la thats the reality of life in Sec school. At least in TNS we had friendly rivalary which spurred us on to greater heights.

Swimming...Gosh
Saturday, May 20, 2006 @9:48 PM
Gonna be another long one... Bear with it ok?
For today's BB we had to swim and I was like, "what the...". Ya la, my admin already told me the previous night, but according to Ding, he say that BB not so
bohliao, so I didn't really think we had to la. As usual we started off with drill, then the briefing about a trip to Thailand, then some First Aid Practical involving bandages...There was the turban-like thing, which was totally ridiculous, because if someone's head is injured, you don't tie their head so hard that they get Brain Damage right? Then there was the elevated arm sling, which replicated the right hand over the chest and those who were being tied said the pledge...Ya so funny right...English pledges were predominant, but I still said the Tamil Pledge, which I could more or less remember, at least the front part of it and some parts at the back, especially "Adipudiyager, Konder"...Nvm I never said anything...Now after that came the long dreaded Swimming...Most people were very unenthusiastic about it, and even if they brought their swimwear, they still insisted on staying in the sidelines. Initially, that was what I was going to do, but then Staff Wesley that this event involved the achievement of a badge, so i no choice wear my PE shorts as swimming trunks (Hey, thats the secondary purpose of it) And I like swam in the pool where I could basically walk in, cause its only like 1.2m, so I was pretty safe. Thankfully the Water Polo team were using the competitive pool if not I think I would have drowned..Nvm again.. So i swam like 200m, then we had this Water Polo match involving 2 balls. 1 ball scored had points of 10 (Good Ball) There was another rotten, dunno-who-spit-that-out that Sergeant Shree had to sqeeze the water out every few minutes (Hope I got his rank and name right..Yikes). At first my team was losing like 60-150, but then the final score became 260-155. At this point, I must say something.
Phoon you bloody cheat, go scratch me to get the ball, and you are already like 1.9m tall...You should at least let me throw you still can catch right? So bad la Phoon. At least your team lost even with you towering all over us.....Geez just felt like saying that, but really la Phoon...Yay so happy...Even happier that got a badge for swimming...O ya incase you guys didn't know, I haven't been in a pool for about 4 years...

Tests Rock!
Monday, May 08, 2006 @2:19 PM
Yep back at home already. Today had English and History tests. It was like so slack because you could go home after that, and there was a 1 hr 30 min break for us to like study for the next subject... Anyway tomorrow is Geography and Life Science. Don't really understand what both teachers are talking about, especially with the Life Science. We are doing cells and bacteria cultivation and things like that. Going to study till I drop dead soon..At least 2 out of 8 tests are down...Yep, stay postive!
P.S Enjoy your level camp, Dunman pals!
An Empty Heart

Song: What's Left Of Me
Lyrics:
Watch my life,
Pass me by,
In the rearview mirror
Pictures frozen in time
Are becoming clearer
I don't wanna waste another day
Stuck in the shadow of my mistakes
Yeah...
[Chorus]
Cause I want you,
And I feel you,
Driving underneath my skin
Like a hunger,
Like a burning,
To find a place ive never been
Now I'm broken,
And I'm faded,
I'm half the man i thought i would be:
But you can have what's left of me
I've been dying inside,
Little by little,
No where to go,
But going out of my mind
In endless circles,
Running from my self until,
You give me a reason for standing still
[Chorus]
It's falling faster,
Barely breathing,
Give me something,
To believe in
Tell me: It's all in my head
Take what's left
Of this man
Make me whole
Once again
[Chorus]
I've been dying inside you see
Im going out of my mind
Out of my mind
I'm just running in circles all the time
Will you take what's left
Will you take what's left
Will you take what's left of me?
Running in circles all the time
Will you take what's left
Will you take what's left
Will you take what's left of me?

Rain saves the day
@2:13 PM
Lol. Lol. Lol. The best thing happened. During the NPCC parade earlier, it started to rain the moment the Officer Commanding shouted ' mesu barez'. It was a light drizzle, which got stronger by the minute. Then something happened. I happened to be standing behing Sherwin 'Bob' Koh, and another guy from 1.6, together with me, were egging the rain on by saying "stronger...stronger...". The big joke was that it really got heavier, and then became a pelting of big raindrops. The IB girls who were standing just in front of the boarding school could not take a bit of rain, so they all backed into the Boarding School with their classmates, which resulted in all the IB people hiding in the Boarding School while we were still standing there like idiots in the rain because Drong would not permit us to leave. As I always say, Drong is always biased to the IB's, so he continued the parade. Then I jokingly told the 1.6 guy, " Whatever you say, don't say thunderstorm". The next moment he said 'Thunderstorm", and then a crack of lightning followed by the roll of thunder. The rain also got heavier than before and then Drong finally gave up. He initially only started dismissing half the people in the parade square, but then everyone ignored his ugly face and created a stampede into the shelter of the Space Frame, which we then proceeded to our classrooms. As I went back, I was telling Yang Jin about the whole episode. The rain started getting lighter, I tried saying "stronger...stronger..." again, and the rain did (am i magical, Lol lame) Then Yang Jin said 'Thunderstorm", but it didn't work. Then when we were back in class, I tried saying 'Thunderstorm" for fun, and then thunder came again......
NPCC Day
@7:11 AM
Sigh today is NPCC day at my school, so all the people from NPCC are going to march, can't really be bother red really, still believe that Boys Brigade excells in marching more than anyone else. Anywya, I saw Germaine on the bus yesterday. She was taking 196 too (W00T) to Suntec, so we had something to talk about, both of us being 6iers and not the stuck-up people from Acs (I)...Can barely stand it any more...Anyway both of us are going back on Monday of Tuesday as she has no school for 2 days (so good lor). Her exams start on Wednesday, the latest I have known among all the schools. Sigh. Going to the parade ground soon, and I am so grateful that I managed to connect to ACCESS-ACSi so i can blog...If not the Fortiguard from ACCESS ACS would block it and some other blogs... Now we are all scolding Winson, who didn't come yesterday, and now he is getting a 'standng ovation' of scolding after he took the Class Key from the chairman to get his stuff which he had left behind in class, then refusing to return it to the Estate office. Fortunately we managed to find the key in his unlocked locker -.-" Now he is sitting quietly talking to his water bottle again -.-" Thats all he does, because obviously, he has no friends. Even when he is absent, the teacher has to appoint an unfortunate person to collect homework and pass notes to him. By the way, can't wait to go back TNS soon, miss Miss Koh so much

Rescind the Charging Policy!
Thursday, May 04, 2006 @4:30 PM
Recently, ACS imposed a ban on using chargers during school hours, and you could only charge when you like only have 1 battery life left and are doing something important. Even at this, you have to ask permission! But who cares anyway, we still charge our tablets at school, and if the teacher is very strict then we take out the charger but the chargers would be plugged back in once the teacher leaves. Seriously, I DO NOT SEE THE POINT of banning charging. Is Drong afraid that the electricity consumption would be higher? Be reasonable Drong, you are already making us pay an extra $10 for the electricity, and then make it compulsary to buy a tablet pc, which is not while I will call very useful compared to the tradiational manual method...Come on, you can try to make it work, but we can just take out and not bring our tablet batteries to school......
Probs of Tablet
Wednesday, May 03, 2006 @10:38 PM
Aiyo sian la. Everyday I carry the big load of my tablet PC to school, then the greatest thing happens. The wireless doesn't work, so basically I can't do any email checking before school, which is especially crucial now that I just send out 50 PW Questionnaires which need to be completed soon...Anyway its been such a pleasure reading all of your blogs, so many nice blog skins and so much gossip. In ACS (I), life is so boring, you see the same teachers all the time, Drong dragging his words during assembly, on his never-ending quest for Excellence in Sports and then make us go and support by giving us one-way tickets there. Fortunately I still don't have to go, but the good news is that my tests are coming up on the 8th, so I don't think they will make us go =] Anyway Dunmanians take note la, your level camp are on the same days as my tests, where got so suey wan? Then won't see any of you on the bus. But hey at least Friday is a holiday! Thats something to look out for!
Till next time,
Joseph
New World Symphony
Tuesday, May 02, 2006 @5:45 PM
Hihi. Anyway just couldn't think of much to blog about, so I might as well
tell you what happened sometime back on the 7th of April (What a 'short' time!)
ACS (I) organised this concert for us to increase our knowledge of the orchestra. It was the New World Symphony at the Esplanade Concert Hall. Anyway we gathered at the concourse, where since the vice-chairman was not there, I became the standing in vice-chair. The job is simple. Count Chickens. Ok, I don't think that my class are chickens (we are born in the chicken year what -.-! Personally I think of them as monkeys) Anywya for those who don't know, it is a figure of speech for counting the number of people at a certain place, like a head-count. Anyway some people did not turn up, some were not free, some were somewhere else representing the school? Anyway we have this guy called Winson Lim in our class, who is kinda gay, and talks to his water bottle all the time. But he is also very blur, so while we were there, we joked that he must have went to the Airport. You must know, that his directions were horrible, and I would not be surprised if he ended up in the bottom of the ocean if you were to send him out SCUBA- diving. Anyway it was a great concert, with a violin solo by this guy called Foo Say Ming. I got his autograph along with Samuel Ong during the intermission. I think we are the only 2 who actually went despite the queue. But I still managed to squeeze through the crowd and cut a few places. By the way I was in casual clothes, so it was okay. By the way there were people from other schools too. Dunman High, Hwa Chong Junior College and Victoria Junior College among the 450+ of ACSians. Although some of us slept through it (Bob slept throughout and snored) , I enjoyed the concert thoroughly and was also able to keep those awake with my smuggled Mentos....Lol I don't think there is anything else to say it there? Just that while most of us came in T-shirt and Jeans, David and Beng Teong came in shirt and long black pants, with David even donning a tie....Thats what I call kiasu la, so overdressed...
Gotta go!
Take care
